BGK to acquire flats for rental housing fund

21 May 2014

Bank Gospodarstwa Krajowego (BGK) signed a letter of intent this week to acquire the first residential buildings for Poland’s state-run rental housing fund (FMW). The move has opened the way for BGK to initiate negotiations on the price for 680 housing units, located in four housing projects in Warsaw, Łódź and Tricity. The first group of tenants should be able to move into their flats by the end of the year.

The state-run BGK has already gotten new offers from developers and building societies, involving projects in Warsaw, Wrocław Kraków, Poznań, Tricity and Łódź. The Polish government wants to acquire 20,000 new rental flats for the fund over the next couple of years.
