Rent arrears amounted to PLN 175.6 million at the end of January, according to data collected in the BIG InfoMonitor Debtors Register. The average rent debt of a private person amounts to PLN 20,000 and companies exceed PLN 37,000.
Between January 2020 and January this year, the rent arrears alone, visible in the register, increased by PLN 20 million to PLN 175.6 million. PLN 15.7 million of this amount belongs to companies that rent premises. Although the debt increased, the number of debtors fell from over 9.1 to 8.5 thousand people and companies, it is said.
“The smaller number of debtors for rent is the result of their increasing mobilization by managers of residential and commercial premises. Two solutions are used for this purpose: sending requests for payment, and if that does not work, then also entering the debtor in the BIG register. be a consequence of already 30-day delays for at least PLN 200 in the case of private persons and PLN 500 if the debtor is a company “- said Łukasz Rączkowski from BIG InfoMonitor.
According to BIG InfoMonitor data, women predominate among rental debtors (53% vs. 47% men). Also in the research, more women than men (23% vs. 20%) declared that last year they had problems with paying their current bills on time. According to the study, people aged 55-64 are also less able to cope with payments, as reported by 28% of respondents. This is confirmed by the BIG InfoMonitor data, as rent debtors from this age group constitute the largest group – 1,940 people (24%), and people between 45 and 54 years of age have a significant share – 1,776 people (22%). 18-24 year olds (less than 5%) and 25-34 year olds (12%) are the lowest among those who do not pay rent, it was also indicated.
Kujawsko-Pomorskie voivodship dominates with the amount of overdue liabilities exceeding PLN 78.7 million, the second is Mazowieckie with the sum of PLN 34.4 million, and the third Warmińsko-Mazurskie – PLN 17.7 million.
