BiH: Keeping supply chains a priority

9 April 2020

Exports from BiH dropped 5 percent during the first quarter of 2020, while imports dropped 7 percent. The BiH Chamber of Commerce President Vjekoslav Vukovic said that the country’s textile industry was the hardest hit sector, as its exports plummeted 20 percent in March. Imports of oil came down 20 percent during the first three months but 20 percent fewer oil products were exported. By contrast, exports of milk, meat, and canned goods grew during the first quarter. The country’s steel and electronics producers have mostly managed to maintain their contracts with foreign partners with the exception of a few deals that have been suspended until the situation improves.
