The German Bilfinger group announced it looks to offload its construction business in Poland. The company says that its income from Poland’s construction sector fell by 15 percent last year, forcing the company to shift towards its services and off-shore businesses. “We see the decision [to leave the Polish construction sector] as positive, making it possible for the group to gain new strategic investor to oversee the Polish construction division,” said Piotr Kledzik, CEO of Bilfinger Infrastructure. Since entering Poland, Bilfinger Infrastructure managed to secure some of the biggest contracts in the country, including the bypass road for the city of Gdańsk.
