Bioethanol plant under construction in Mohács

29 May 2012

A new bioethanol factory is being built in Mohács by Pannonia Ethanol Mohács, a subsidiary of Ethanol Europe Renewables LTD. The facility will be the second Hungarian bioethanol factory after the one in Dunaföldvár. CEO Mark Turley says the plant should produce 240 million liters of bioethanol annually. He also said that his company’s decision to build in Mohács was based on the town’s strong infrastructure. It’s being built by the American company Fagen, which has 93 bioethanol factories under its belt already in the USA. The factory is planned to be finished by the end of 2013. The building phase of the project will provide 600 jobs, while the operations will create jobs for 60 people.
