BMW to invest €1bn in Debrecen plant

BMW is planning to build a new plant in Debrecen, eastern Hungary. The German car maker recently acquired a plot in the city and intends to invest €1bn in the project. All the necessary infrastructure works have already been completed at the site. Hungary’s innovation and technology minister, Laszlo Palkovics, said about HUF 130bn in state funding was used to upgrade the transport infrastructure around the site and an additional HUF 35bn will be used to improve the local school system in the area.
