BNR’s foreign reserves rise to €31,459m

The National Bank of Romania posted €31,459m in foreign exchange reserves on Jan. 31, a slight increase from the previous month levels.

January activity included €1,985m of inflows, which represented changes in foreign exchange reserve requirements for credit institutions, inflows into the Ministry of Public Finance’s accounts, and the European Commission’s account, as well as income from the management of foreign exchange reserves.

The bank also recorded €1,732m in outflows last month, which represented changes in foreign exchange reserve requirements for credit institutions, interest and principal payments on foreign currency public debt.
