Bookies see Dráhoš as odds-on favorite to win presidency

16 January 2018

The odds of president Miloš Zeman retaining his seat in the final round of elections are lengthening. Bookmakers had him winning the first round with little trouble and offered odds of just 1.57:1. Today, the tables have turned, with Round 1’s second-place finisher Jiří Dráhoš getting odds of 1.47:1 to win the upcoming Round 2. Zeman, by contrast, is getting odds no better than 2.32:1. Czechs put CZK 800,000 on Drahoš to win at Fortuna betting shops during Monday, while just CZK 60,000 in bets backed a Zeman victory.
