Bank Ochrony Środowiska (BOŚ) has signed 445 settlements with holders of foreign currency mortgages until the end of June 2023, the bank said.
As of 30 June 2023, the Bank had received 1,097 settlement requests relating to foreign currency mortgage loans. The balance to be repaid on these loans amounted to PLN 104 million. 445 settlements were signed, according to the quarterly report.
The bank’s provisions for risk related to foreign currency-linked mortgages include the cost of a settlement programme for customers repaying foreign currency mortgages under rules proposed by the chairman of the Financial Supervision Commission. The bank launched the settlement programme on 31 January 2022.
“The bank’s gross balance sheet value adjustment and provision for CHF-linked mortgage risk amounted to 567.2 million at the end of H1 2023, compared to 490.2 million at 31 December 2022, it was further announced.
The total gross carrying value adjustment and provision for foreign currency mortgage loans amounted to PLN 608.5 million at the end of H1 2023 against PLN 514.8 million at the end of 2022.
