Bosch to lay off 800 works at Hungary plant

28 April 2020

Bosch is planning to lay off more than 800 workers at its automotive electronics plant in Hatvan, east of Budapest. The German engineering company has already seen a drop in orders from the automotive sector and is anticipating a slow recovery for the sector after the coronavirus crisis is contained, according to Teodora Bodo, communications director for Bosch Hungary. Roughly 6,000 people work at the company’s Hatvan plant. The company will terminate cooperation with 700 contracted laborers by the end of April and another 130 indirect laborers by the end of the year, Bodo said.
