Boulevard opening in front of Stanica Nivy pushed back to fall 2020

19 August 2019

Completion of the boulevard that’s being built at Mlynske Nivy in connection with the Stanica Nivy shopping center by HB Reavis has been put off until after the summer holidays in 2020. Originally, the new boulevard was supposed to open this fall, but the city’s new administration has insisted on improvements being made to the original design. These centered in part around the creation of a two-lane bike lane that wouldn’t include potential collision points with public transportation stops. “The face of our city in this district will be determined for decades to come by this rucial transport artery,” write the city’s spokesman Peter Bubla. The width of the sidewalks will be widened from 4.2 meters to 5.5 meters, a change that appears to be in line with Mayor Matus Vallo’s pledge to make Bratislava more pedestrian and bike-friendly.
