Danubia Invest has secured a planning permit from city of Bratislava for Danubia Park, a sports and leisure area, set to go up along the Danube River in the capital’s Čunovo district. The complex, expected to cost €45m, will feature an aquapark, a marina with clubs for water sports, playgrounds, new bike tracks, recreational apartments and a park. The project originally also included a golf course. However, the Čunovo district forced the developer to reduce its plans. Officials there are still not satisfied with the current scheme. The developer has already invested €10m into the project over 10 years of planning. It leases the 220 ha from Vodohospodárska výstavba. The lease contract will mature in 2106.
