Bratislava launches architectural contest to redesign Námestie Slobody

7 September 2017

Bratislava has launched an architectural competition for the revitalization of Námestie Slobody. The worn down public square got an initial facelift over the summer, which included a cleaning and minor changes. The second phase, based on the winning design, is scheduled for 2018. Slovak as well as international architects are invited to take part in the competition. Three top projects will be awarded €12,000, €8,000 and €5,000. HB Reavis will sit on the jury as part of Dobré m(i)esto, the civic association it established. HB Reavis will invest €0.5m into the revitalization of the square and will help with fundraising efforts. Trend.sk hints the gesture could help HB Reavis push through its cable railway project in Bratislava.
