Bratislava agreed it will contribute €335,013 from its coffers to finance a new marina in the Nová Ves estuary along the Danube. The plan still needs approval from Bratislava Mayor Ivo Nesrovnal, however. The city wants to start construction next year, so that marina can open for summer 2018. The new 2,600 sqm sports area would feature a building with 539 sqm of usable space, including a clubroom, fitness, storage, a specialty shop and a terrace. The city sold the land in Karloveska estuary to J&T group in 2007 for SKK 25.23m (approx. €837,000), which the city promised to invest into a new marina. The project was approved in 2011, but the city has not yet transferred the money.
