GreenPointe Communities, based in Jacksonville, has hired Brett Blank as development manager to head up construction of its mixed-use project in downtown Sarasota. Blank has spent his career developing multifamily projects in Colorado and a master-planned community called Arden in Palm Beach County with Freehold Capital Management of Boston. The 15 acre, $1 billion waterfront scheme, Quay Sarasota, will encompass 700 new residences, 175 hotel rooms and roughly 240,000 square feet of retail and office space. Blank will also coordinate plans for a Florida Department of Transportation roundabout at U.S. 41 and Fruitville Road, the entrance to the project. The scheme is slated for completion in numerous phases that will run through 2028.
