British Land: Growth extends beyond London

30 January 2014

British Land says demand for commercial property in the center of London is spreading to offices and shopping centers spreading into the regions. In a report on its quarterly results, CEO Chris Grigg said the company had performed well at the end of 2013. ā€œOverall the UK property market had a strong quarter, with London strengthening further and domestic and international investment spreading out into the regional markets.ā€

“From an occupational perspective, we saw increased interest in our office space in London, notably in the City. In retail, the economic recovery is having a positive impact on confidence and we continued to benefit from retailers looking to take space in the best quality locations.”

British Land used the opportunity to announce that it was changing auditors, moving from Deloitte to PwC.
