The multimodal complex of Brno Airport is complete. The last three tenants have added world-famous brands.
The multimodal complex next to Brno Airport, which was jointly prepared by Brno Airport a.s., belonging to the Accolade Group, and the developer Panattoni, is fully leased. Well-known Erba Lachema companies from the Erba Group, Noviko and Reda have now joined the tenants such as Coca Cola, DHL or Zásilkovna. In addition to a great strategic location near Brno-Turany Airport and the D1 motorway, it also offers excellent technological equipment for modern and sustainable business. The whole area boasts a high level of evaluation according to the latest BREEAM New Construction standards at the Excellent level, making it one of the greenest parks in the Czech Republic and the greenest park in Brno.
Noviko, part of the parent company Covetrus, with a global presence, has leased over 8,000 sqm in the park. It is a company trading in medicines, biopreparations, medical and breeding needs, veterinary devices and feeds. The new modern premises will offer it the necessary comfort, for example to ensure cold storage temperatures, and at the same time significantly support its further strategic growth.
Another approximately 4,600 sqm was leased by the company Reda, which deals primarily with the sale, printing and distribution of promotional and gift items. As part of the Stricker Group, it supplies them throughout Europe and other continents. It is the “market leader” in the Czech Republic. It has the largest storage capacity in the industry with more than 24,000 pallet places and 30 million pieces of goods in stock.
The third newest tenant with almost 5,000 sqm of leased space is the manufacturer of products for in vitro diagnostics (IVD) Erba Lachema from the Erba Group, which will offer Brno and its surroundings a new job in a modern space storing medical devices for IVD. The interesting features of this unit are special cooling units on the roof and fire windows from the offices to the hall.
“From the Brno multimodal complex at the second busiest airport in the Czech Republic, we have managed to create a unique space where key players from various fields meet. However, all tenants have two things in common: an emphasis on a sustainable approach and at the same time technologically advanced solutions, ”said Milan Kratina, CEO of the Accolade Group.
“I am pleased that Noviko, Reda and Erba Lachema have been able to offer state-of-the-art premises in a building aiming for BREEAM New Construction certification at the Excellent level. We confirm the sustainable approach with above-standard planting of greenery directly in the area, “said Pavel Sovička, Panattoni’s General Manager for the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
Brno Airport Park covers a total area of 110,893 sqm and is a unique multi-purpose zone, whose individual buildings are designed to have the lowest possible impact on the environment. Part of the area was built on a brownfield. Up to 90% of the material obtained from the demolition of the original buildings was used during the construction. In the area there is a retention reservoir, around the park and in the middle a relaxation zone with benches for employees. Over 100 trees with additional shrubs will be gradually planted on the green areas and it will be a mix of deciduous trees and original Czech conifers.
Afforestation of selected areas is already in the process. Today, Jakub Ryvola, Associate Director – Asset Management of the Accolade Group, Robert Chmelař, Head of Property Management CZ Panattoni, symbolically joined the work and planted the Czech national heart-shaped linden tree together.
Four halls of the park achieved the BREEAM New Construction rating at the “Exellent” level and one hall at the “Very Good” level. BREEAM international certification guarantees environmental friendliness, a high level of energy self-sufficiency and above-standard working conditions for employees.
The multimodal complex uses connections to the airport runway system. Thanks to this, there is no need to reload the cargo from the plane to cars heading off-site. This saves the tenants money and also leads to traffic calming on the routes to the airport. In addition to air transport, the park uses a railway siding to the airport complex and the modernization of the entire Brno railway junction adds to its attractiveness.
