Brno city deputies have approved the purchase of a majority stake in Veletrhy Brno, the company which operates the Brno exhibition grounds. The contract will be discussed in December and a transaction for the sale worth CZK 225m is expected to close before the end of the year, according to the server ihned.cz. The city will acquire 61 percent from the German owner of the area, Messe Düsseldorf, increasing its share in Veletrhy Brno company to 95 percent. The city is now preparing plans for new development of the fair area, according to mayor Petr Vokřál.
