Brno University of Technology is being fined CZK 1m for mishandling a 2011 public tender for the construction of its information technology research center. The Czech Antimonopoly Office ruled that the tender was not transparent. IMOS Brno oversaw construction of the project, which was completed last year. Construction costs hit CZK 150m. The university’s new research center is part of the national IT4Innovations program, which includes, in addition to the Brno center, also three centers in Ostrava and one at the university in Opava.
