Bryan Wilson Speaker at CEDEM Real Estate Investment Summit 2016

14 October 2016

Bryan Wilson, a founding partner at Wilson & Partners, was one of the speakers at the CEDEM Real Estate Investment Summit, which was held 22-23 September 2016 in the Hotel Marriott in Prague. Wilson & Partners is one of the leading independent law firms in the Czech and Slovak Republics.

Bryan Wilson and the other panelists had an open and frank discussion of the perils of investing in the hotel sector, stressing the need to work with experienced operators and to conclude strong management contracts that delineate responsibilities carefully as well as creating sufficient incentives for success. Other speakers on this high-powered panel were Andreas Deutsch (Raiffeisen Zentralbank Österreich), Chris Eddis (Mornington Cap) and Frederic Le Fichoux (Cushman& Wakefield). “It was an enjoyable panel with incisive questions from Frederic with lively and thought provoking answers. It was clear from Andreas that banks are indeed prepared to finance hotel but as Chris and I stated many times, hotel ownership and/or operation is not easy. Yes, it’s sexy, but only if the owner or operator are prepared to put in hard work. Ownership and operation are not necessarily marriages made in heaven and clients who move into the hotel sector need to understand and appreciate this,“ said Bryan Wilson, a founding partner at Wilson & Partners.

Attracting delegates and high-level speakers from around Europe, CEDEM Investment Summit’s unique format excels in bringing out frank discussions about the state of the industry. Through a combination of lectures, prepared market analyses and moderated panel discussions, delegates gain critical insight into current trends affecting this complex sector.
