The Bucharest Airports National Company (CNAB), which manages Henri Coandă and Aurel Vlaicu airports, needs financing to continue its activity and investments. The Romanian state and Property Fund, the two shareholders of CNAB, will meet in May to decide to approve the contracting by the Company of a loan worth EUR 40 million, according to data published in the Official Gazette.
Affected by the COVID-19 pandemic, CNAB activity has declined with the reduction of airline flights, due to travel restrictions imposed by many countries around the world. The EUR 40 million is intended to cover capital expenditures and support operational activity in the context of the prolongation of the health crisis.
The Minister of Transports, Cătălin Drulă, declared that CNAB ended 2020 with a loss of RON 120 million.
