Bucharest flat prices outstrip those in the regions

While prices for new apartments in Romania’s main cities have fallen over the past two years by 54 percent, prices in Bucharest continue to outstrip those in the regional cities.
A one-room apartment costs €36,089 on average in Cluj, while in Brasov it costs €37.276, €38,039 in Constanta and €40,000 in Timisoara. Meanwhile, in Bucharest, prospective owners of new flats must come up with an average of €48,860.

Put differently, the money it takes to buy a new two-room apartment Cluj will only get you a studio flat in Bucharest. Cluj has the cheapest apartments in Romania of the major cities analyzed, with an average price of €49,392.

In Brasov, new apartments with two bedrooms cost €52,302 whereas in Bucharest the price is €84,939, writes daylibusiness.ro. Three-bedroom units in Iasi cost an average of €64,047, compared to €68,205 in Cluj. In Timisoara, a new three-bedroom apartment costs €74,700, but this is nothing compared to the €123,000 the same flat will set consumers back in Bucharest.
