Bucharest flats priced highest, fall furthest

According to the Darian consultancy, the national average price for apartments built before 1990 was €720 per sqm in the second half of 2011, a decline of 2.1 percent compared to the first six months of the year. Not surprisingly, the most expensive pre-revolution flats Are found in Bucharest, where the average price now sits at €984 per sqm. The capital is followed in the rankings by Cluj-Napoca (€977), Iasi (€891) and Timisoara (€889). Looking specifically at Bucharest, prices fell a rather remarkable 8.8 percent in the second half of 2011.
