Budapest Airport is planning to invest HUF 50bn over the next five years under its BUD 2020 program. Projects include a new pier, an airport hotel as well as cargo and security developments. Budapest’s Ferenc Liszt International Airport has seen its passenger numbers increase significantly over the past three years, with traffic growing 12.5 percent between January and May this year alone. Construction of the new passenger pier is set to begin at the end of the year and is expected to take 18 months.
