The Hungarian government is planning to invest HUF 23.2bn into the refurbishment of the State Opera House in Budapest. Opened in 1884, the Miklos Ybl-designed opera house is the second largest in Hungary.The refurbishment will involve the renovation of the buildingʼs facade and interior as well as an upgrade of stage equipment. The State Opera House is scheduled to be reopened at the end of 2018.
