Budapest Transport Company in EUR 50m lawsuit with Swietelsky over M3 metro line

3 November 2020

Swietelsky is considering taking the Budapest Transport Company to court over EUR 50m for the reconstruction of the M3 metro line. The whole contract was worth around EUR 135m, yet Swietelsky demanded EUR 50m extra for additional works carried out on the reconstruction. BKV is ready to pay EUR 22m of this additional sum, but doesn’t plan on paying the rest. Swietelsky has announced it will cease works on the M3 line until an agreement is reached.
