The production index in construction fell -4.7% in February. The employment index of employment fell 5.3 percent for the month while wages dropped 4.6 percent (compared to -5.6 percent and -3.7 percent in January). The figures, compiled by the National Statistics Institute (INE) showed that building construction declined less heavily in February (4.8 percent) than it did in January (5.2 percent). The segment of Civil Engineering recorded an annual decrease of 4.4 percent in February (it was -4.1 percent in January). The construction employment index in the decreased by 5.3 percent in February, improving on the -5.6 percent dip in January. Wages fell -4.6 percent in February (-3.7 percent in January).
