The old building of the National Radio in Lisbon, will be rehabilitated for housing. “The proposal calls for the viability of the recovery of the building of the former National Radio to adapt it to residential use”, indicates Councilman Urbanism, Manuel Salgado. The mayor said that, “in view of its location and the urban context in which it operates,” is dismissed “the payment of the compensation” urban. The Directorate General of Cultural Heritage issued a favorable opinion but conditioned the archaeological monitoring of all subsoil allocations. The National Radio was created in 1935, taking over public service broadcasting in Portugal.
