Building permit volume up 8.8% in October

A total of 2,343 building permits were issued in Serbia in October, up 8.8 percent from the same month the previous year, according to the state statistical office. Nearly 80 percent of the permits issued in October were for buildings, while the remaining 20.2 percent were for other facilities. The statistical office data shows that 73.7 percent of the permits were for residential buildings, and 26.3 percent were for non-residential buildings. A total of 2,362 dwellings were built in October, averaging 80.1 sqm. The highest construction volume was reported in the northern Banat region (50.2 percent), followed by the Belgrade area (15.8 percent), the Pomoravska region (5.5 percent), the Podunavska region (5.1 percent) and southern Backa (4.6 percent).
