Building permits for residential buildings decreased by 26%

The number of construction permits for residential buildings decreased in the first four months of the year by 26 percent compared to the similar period in 2022, with decreases being recorded in all regions of the country, according to the National Institute of Statistics. In total, between January and April, 10,673 authorizations were issued.

In April 2023, 2,677 building permits were issued for residential buildings, down 20 percent compared to March 2023 and 32.3 percent compared to April 2022. The total usable area decreased by 34.3 percent compared to with the month of April 2022. Of the total building permits for residential buildings, 70.2 percent are for the rural area.
