I Tower Development is developing the first Marriott hotel in Bulgaria in downtown Sofia on Macedonia Square. The project is being financed by Bulgaria’s Postbank and Black Sea Trade and Development Bank which is providing a $72m, 12-year loan to the company. The new Marriott will be in a 107m high tower and is expected to be completed during 2020. Marriott is planning to build additional hotels in Bulgaria, including in cities like Plovdiv and Varna as well as in resort areas such as the mountains or along the Black sea coast.
