Bulgaria’s GDP set to grow by 3% in 2016

Bulgaria’s GDP is expected to grow by 3 percent in 2016, according to Tsvetan Simeonov, the chairman of the Bulgarian Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The growth is being driven by companies in a number of different sectors, including high-tech, outsourcing, car and machine part manufacturing, pharmaceutical and cosmetics. Simeonov, during an interview with the public radio broadcaster BNR, also stated that the average wage will exceed €500 per month by the end of this year.

According to preliminary estimates made by the National Statistics Institute, the Bulgarian economy grew by 3 percent y-o-y in Q2 and by 0.7 percent q-o-q.
