Bulgaria’s Kozloduy nuclear power plant has shut down Unit 5, one of its two 1,000-MW operating nuclear reactors, for planned annual maintenance on April 24.
The upcoming technical servicing, testing and repair are expected to be completed by the end of May, according to the power plant operator’s statement.
During the planned outage, the reactor will be reloaded with fresh nuclear fuel. Kozloduy’s other 1,000 MW unit, Unit 6, is currently operating at full capacity.
