Bulgarian government sets radically low energy goals for buildings

24 December 2015

The Bulgarian Government has adopted a plan for the construction of buildings with near zero energy consumption. The plan will create conditions for the implementation of the new European policy for energy efficiency which would change the ratio of the energy sources used in the buildings. The plan relies on intelligent building systems, the use of low energy appliances and renewable energy sources or of energy produced in the immediate vicinity.

Bulgaria hopes to reduce energy use by 10 percent and to reduce its carbon emissions by 36,685 tons by 2020.
