Bulgarian surplus reaches €491.6m in February

Although the Bulgarian Finance Ministry will publish final data for the country’s consolidated budget revenues and spending soon, current forecasts and preliminary numbers from the Ministry of Finance suggest that the country’s consolidated budget is expected to show a surplus of €491.6m as of the end of February. That’s 1.1 percent of the country’s projected GDP.

It’s a major improvement from a year ago, as Bulgaria had a consolidated budget deficit of €54m at the end of February 2015 (0.1% of GDP). The country’s budget stood at €507.5m at the end of January 2016.
