California State Teachers’ Retirement System partners with Panattoni in Poland

10 March 2016

The Polish press is reporting that Panattoni Europe and the California State Teachers’ Retirement System (a major investment fund) have concluded an agreement on the creation of a JV on the Polish market to develop a new warehouse and logistic center. However, the developer has declined to comment on the reports, which are based on a filing by the two companies with Poland’s anti-trust regulator.

Known as CSJV, the US pension fund collects contributions from the salaries of teachers in California’s public schools. As of January, 2016, the vehicle had USD 179.4bn in assets under management, making it the biggest fund of its type. In 2011, Panattoni and the California teacher’s fund formed a similar agreement worth $1.15bn.
