Car production at TCPA in Kolin finally restarts

26 May 2020

The Toyota Peugeot Citroën Automobile (TPCA) plant in Kolin started production at last, having been offline since March 18. It put out just 300 vehicles yesterday, well down from its capacity of 900 cars, even though both shifts have been called to work from the beginning. TPCA won’t reach full capacity until Friday, according to the company’s spokesman Tomáš Paroubek. The factory has installed thermo cameras to look for employees with fevers, while its canteen has been rearranged to allow for larger spaces between tables. Production at TPCA was originally supposed to be renewed on May 18 but management decided on May 13 to push the date back by a week.
