Hungary is planning to adopt new Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) technology. CCS is a new technology that helps prevent the release of large quantities of carbon dioxide into the atmosphere from fossil fuel use in power generation and other industries. Along with procuring and installing the technology, a number of changes to national legislation are necessary. The new law is planned to take effect in May, 2012, according to the Ministry of National Development.
