Carrefour obtained revenues of EUR 32 million from the sale of its stake in the Ploiesti Shopping City shopping center to the real estate developer NEPI Rockcastle. The French retailer owned 50 percent of the Ploiești shopping center, the remaining 50 percent being controlled by NEPI. The transaction thus values Ploiești Shopping City at EUR 64 million.
Ploiești Shopping City, the project developed by Carrefour Property Romania together with NEPI Rockcastle, was inaugurated in 2012, being the first and largest shopping center in Prahova County, with a leasable area of 55,000 sqm.
Carrefour, which is preparing to sign the takeover of Cora’s operations in Romania, has however slowed its local expansion, opening only one store in the first part of the year.
