The Polish warehouse market recovered slightly in the second quarter of the year, with 305,000 sqm of new space delivered to the local market – twice as much as in the same period in 2011. Growing tenant activity was seen in two new regional hubs, in Silesia and Poznan, in the second quarter of 2012.
“While the majority of new leasing deals are build-to-suit projects, we see the average vacancy rate steady around 12% despite a growing volume of new warehouse completions. This is a sign of stability on the Polish warehouse market, reflecting strong Polish GDP growth of 3.5% in the first quarter of 2012 and a forecasted 2.6% for the entire year,” said Patrick Kurowski, Director, Industrial & Logistics at CBRE Poland.
