The CEE region is attracting an increasing number of foreign investments from South Africa to Asia, according to a report published by Skanska, Colliers International, and Dentons. The trend is expected to continue. There is currently a total of 21.8 million sqm of office space in the CEE region, which is expected to increase by approximately 20 percent by 2021. More than €5bn were invested in CEE office markets in 2018, according to the report. Asian investors have poured €7.7bn into the CEE region since 2013, with South Koreans investing more than €1bn in H1 2019 alone, the report shows.
“Singaporean capital is also strongly represented and, while the Chinese have paused a bit as they digest the ramifications of the trade war with the US, the long-term Chinese Belt and Road policy initiative bodes well for their future investment,” said David Dixon partner at Dentons in Warsaw.
