CEFC may buy 50% share in Penta

17 March 2016

Chinese investor CEFC is reportedly in talks to acquire a 50-percent stake Penta Investment Group’s healthcare, property and retail portfolio, according to Czech Radio. If the deal goes through CEFC would invest a few billion euros into the group’s capital. All five Penta owners would give up part of their shares. Marek Dospiva and Jaroslav Haščák hold an 80-percent stake, with the rest controlled by Jozef Oravkin, Eduard Maták and Iain Child. Czech Radio says negotiations are in the initial stages, with results to be announced in mid-2016. CEFC invested €20bn in the Czech Republic since entering the market last year.
