Central Florida building permits up $1bn y-o-y

Central Florida building permit values increased by $1 billion over the first five months of the year compared to the same period in 2014, according to a report from Dodge Data & Analytics. Residential and commercial builders pulled permits in Orange, Seminole, Osceola and Lake counties totaling $2.8 billion between January and May of this year, a 54-percent increase from $1.8 billion reported in the first five months of 2014. Homebuilders accounted for $1.85 billion of that total in the first five months of the year, while commercial builders accounted for $972.4 million.
