During the first half of this year, Central Group, acquired ownership of premises in three Prague locations – in Žižkov, Hloubětín and Vysočany. It plans to build almost a thousand new flats on the land in which the company has invested almost CZK 750 million.
The largest of the acquisitions this year was the purchase of a brownfield with an area of less than 15,000 sqm in Jarov in Prague 3, where up to 500 new housing units may be built in the coming years. The land is located between Habrová and Na Jarově streets, right next to the bus stop and within walking distance to the tram line stop. The original production and storage area is awaiting transformation into modern urban housing, which will also include spaces for shops, services, restaurants and cafés. There is also a public space full of greenery.
Near the Jarov locality, the transformation of the abandoned Žižkov Freight Station is already creating a unique Park District, which is the developer’s largest project to date. “With the acquisition of the Jarov complex, we have further expanded our portfolio of projects in Žižkov. We perceive this location as very promising, which is confirmed by the huge interest in our nearby Park District project. We have no doubt that we will offer another unique and very successful project here, “explains Dušan Kunovský, head and founder of Central Group, about the reasons for the purchase.
New projects will also be created in Prague 9
The company’s other two investments went to Prague 9, which is the fastest growing part of the metropolis. The first plot of land is located in Vysočany within walking distance of the Kolbenova metro station. In the future, a project with up to 180 flats can be created on the site of the current production and commercial building.
The second location is near the Hloubětín metro station. Instead of the area, which currently houses mostly smaller surgeries, the company plans to build a project here, which will offer up to 130 modern apartments. The new buildings will also include new commercial premises, in which the preservation of premises for medical services is also planned.
We focus mainly on large projects on brownfields, on which we will build completely new neighborhoods. However, we would like to supplement these large projects with smaller locations with excellent transport accessibility. This is exactly the case with the two new acquisitions in Prague 9, which are located just a few minutes walk from the metro and are also close to tram lines, describes the main advantages of future Kunovský projects.
