Bratislava’s district Ružinov has approved a change to the master plan of the former Cvernovka factory area. The new plan, designed by Peter Žalman, opens way for JF Hamilton to re-develop the brownfield into a new neighborhood. The new master plan’s EIA process is currently underway, leading the developer to hope it can secure a planning permit by 2016.
The Czech-based developer Sekyra Group began work on the re-development plan in 2007, its idea being to build 1,000 flats, offices and shops on the 4 ha plot. Lofts were planned for a protected historical industrial building on the site. After the onset of the crisis, Sekyra sold the project to the French group JF Hamilton.
