Chateau Group completes Collins Ave block acquisition in Surfside

The Château Group has acquired a small Surfside apartment building on Collins Ave for $6.2 million. The two story building built in 1958 has 24 apartments and sits on a 0.36-acre lot across the street from the Surfside Community Center. This final purchase means that Château now owns the entire eastern section of Collins Avenue’s 9300 block. The 2.2 acres of total land are occupied entirely by mid-century, low-rise apartment buildings and a mix of surface parking lots and single-family homes. Château is building the Fendi Château Residences across the street in a joint venture between the development group and luxury fashion brand Fendi. That project topped off in August and is expected to open in June 2016. The deal was financed with a $4.65 million loan from Centennial Bank.
