China City Construction’s residential project in Miami Beach clears planning

15 April 2016

Miami Beach’s Historic Preservation Board has granted China City Construction two variances for a condominium project in North Beach. The two variances include a seven foot tall fence on the north side of the property that exceeds code, as well as an interior driveway that is one foot smaller than required. It clears the way for the company to build an 18-story condominium with 42 residential units and 87 parking spaces at 6747 Collins Avenue. The site is one of the last undeveloped oceanfront properties on Miami Beach as well as one of the smallest, measuring just 0.98-acres. China City purchased the land last year in a $38.5 million deal. The project will be the first major development completed on Miami Beach by a Chinese developer.
