Chinese backing for major new Belgrade industrial park

11 October 2017

A Serbian – Chinese industrial park is being planned for construction in Belgrade in 2018. The project is to be built in the town’s Borca district, next to the new Pupin bridge on a plot of land that measures 320 ha. The investor, China Road and Bridge Corporation, plans to split the work into three stages in what will eventually amount to an outlay of around €300m. It’s to be financed by three Chinese banks with the goal of housing over 1,000 high-tech companies and employing tens of thousands of people. At least forty major Chinese companies have expressed interest in being part of the new zone, which would be the most modern industrial complex of its type in the region.
