Chrudim will sell more land in the industrial zone Západ

Chrudim will sell more land in the Západ industrial zone. The company Era Plus will buy more than two hectares of land for CZK 20.2 million (VAT excluded), the transaction was approved by councillors. The land was originally reserved for the Ficek company, which is already based in the zone, but later lost interest in it, deputy mayor Zdeněk Kolář (ANO) said today.

“We have reached an agreement with the company Era Plus, a production plant for packaging materials and storage space should be built there. Approximately 30 people should be employed there,” Kolář said. Era Plus belongs to the owners of ERA-Pack, a supplier of packaging materials and packaging machines. The parent company bought a large former army depot in Pardubická Street from the Ministry of Defence more than a decade ago.

There are no more vacant plots of land in the industrial zone Chrudim-West owned by the town. According to Kolář, a study of the transport service to the neighbouring area is being prepared, and a connection to the I/17 road near Markovice is being solved in cooperation with the Road and Motorway Directorate, where a roundabout should be built. The town hall has been negotiating for a long time with the owners of the land adjacent to the zone, and a study has been completed to ensure transport services within the zone.

If the city manages to prepare more land for sale, there will be no shortage of investors. “There are about 16 interested parties, mostly from Chrudim or the Chrudim region, who would like to build their business premises there,” Kolář added.

Last year, the town expanded the Chrudim-West industrial zone by purchasing additional land from private owners. This year, the councillors approved the sale of part of the land to Kowo, a Chrudim-based company that is engaged in complete machine manufacturing, turning, grinding, milling, drilling, welded parts processing and assembly. Another plot of land was bought by Datria International, a Chrudim company producing single-purpose machines.

The 33-hectare industrial zone, which cost Chrudim about CZK 100 million to set up, is largely full. For example, the Chrudim company Dřevovýroba Ficek or the manufacturer of tubes for wind power plants Siag are working here. The town also sold the land to Sofiko, a company that produces baking trays and various types of moulds for bakeries, or Kayaba, a manufacturer of car shock absorbers. The Austrian chain manufacturer Pewag, the Chrudim-based Monas Trade Company, Redleta and Burkoň, the Slatiňan company Stavební hut or the special clothing manufacturer CityZen also own plots in the zone. The town hall has retained the land on which the town wants to build a second, larger collection yard. The smaller industrial zone Sever near the exit from the city to Pardubice has already been sold off.
