After Kennial withdrew from a tender to buy 700 panel flats in Prague-Písnice from ČEZ, the state-owned energy supplier awarded the portfolio to the runner-up, CIB Group, whose bid was close to Kennial’s CZK 1.45bn offer. CIB’s director, Dušan Koňařík, said negotiations over the sales contract would start immediately. ČEZ said it was sticking to the rules of the tender. Kennial withdrew from the tender after deciding tenant claims that ČEZ should have offered the flats to them first were justified.
